Paper Dolls at Fifty24LA

If you are in the Los Angeles area be sure to check out the upcoming show at Fifty24LA Gallery curated by the gallery and M.I.S.S, an online women’s lifestyle magazine. The show, “Paper Dolls” is a group show displaying new works by artists who are each interpreting a paper doll. Artists includes Adriana Yugovitch, Toofly, Knitta Please, narcissister, Nubby Twiglet, Claw Money, Indie 184, Shin Tanaka, Kelly Tunstall, Solar Space, Tone Tank and many more.

The gallerie’s press release: “Using the iconic paper doll as inspiration, each artist offers his or her own artistic interpretation of the woman’s fashion figure. From photographs, illustrations and paintings, there are varied expressions of the paper doll – all with the signature touches of each artist. Stay tuned to MissOmniMedia.com for daily posts on each contributing artist with examples of his or her works.”

The artists features in this post are: New York based street artist, Toofly in the first panel. Toofly often draws elegant and colorful divas in spray paint. Following, is a completely different kind of urban artist, Knitta Please, in the second panel is the one of a kind knit graffiti crew founded by Magda Sayeg. The Knitta Please crew is now based in Austin, Texas. Finally rounding off the trio is California College of Arts and Crafts’ own Kelly Tunstall who paints mischievious women who are in between a concrete world and the super natural.
