You might have caught Hector Hernandez’ revealing interviews with emerging artists on his contemporary art blog, Art Czar. Hernandez is also a member of Los Outsiders, an Austin based artists collective that curates culturally driven exhibitions alongside collaborators Michael Anthony Garcia and Jamie Castillo. Recently, the collective curated “Hasta La Basura Se Separa” (English: Even the Trash Gets Sorted.) Los Outsider curate a very a propos exhibition tying together artists across the Mexican diaspora in, “Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow.”

Presented at the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center (MACC), “HEIR today, gone tomorrow”, weaves together the works of various American, Mexican and Spanish artists to explore the complexities of inheritance, legacy and human interaction. The gallery space becomes a journal and the audience, a voyeur, diving into the details. The artwork are a meta-cognitive examination of who we are through our relationships, cultural and genetics.”
