Residency
About the ProgramThe White Hot Residency at Curbs and Stoops hosts pioneering young artists in all disciplines including visual art, performance art, sculpture, sound and video, and new media. The program offers a four month first time residency for artists who are selected based upon merit, and through a process of open application and invitation. Experimentation is encouraged as is discourse and collaboration. The goals of the residency are to — develop new work, initiate discourse and collaborations among peers, and to exhibit resultant work to the public. Because of the proximity to New York City, there will be many opportunities for one on one and small group visits by prominent critics, gallerists, curators, and artists. The practice based residency will be supplemented by lectures, studio visits, & critiques by visiting tutors. Artists agree to sharing process, updates of progress and reflections through media partner’s website and publications. | About White Hot MagazineWhitehot Magazine is an international art magazine and collective of over 150 writers in 20 cities.
