Open Submissions: Curbs & Stoops considers submissions in each of our journal topics. We accept submissions on a rolling basis and are always looking for exceptional talents and unique voices. We are particularly interested in pieces that delve into the connection of a work to it’s environment, but submissions of any subject will be considered. We allow simultaneous submissions but ask to be notified if your work is accepted elsewhere.

Guidelines: All submissions must be previously unpublished. Curbs & Stoops asks for first North American serial rights. Copyright reverts to the author upon publication. We do ask that when the work is published again a credit line indicate that the work first appeared in Curbs & Stoops.

Until we have responded, please do not send more than a single submission in any category:

Short Stories (Up to 5,000 words)
Essays (Up to 2,000 words)
Studio Visits (Up to 2,000 words)
Show Critiques (Up to 2,000 words)
Interviews of any kind (Up to 2,000 words)

Images: Visuals are an important part of our journal. Please send high resolution images (1200 pixels wide) to accompany your text. No stories will be published without images. We accept .GIF .JPEG and .MOV. We also accept links to YouTube and Vimeo.

Response Time: We make every effort to reply within one week, but sometimes the volume of submissions means the process will take longer. Please contact us if your submission has not been addressed after 2 week.
