Next Project: Boston Identity
Jorge Rodriguez Gerada will be coming to Boston to create one of his large scale charcoal ‘Identity’ pieces. Rodriguez-Gerada “creates portraits in charcoal of people-until now anonymous-which scale the walls of buildings in our cities in a format that we can begin to describe as gigantic. They are gigantically defying, proud and dignified, more social than political. But let us not be mistaken, the art piece is not the charcoal drawing. The artistic process begins with the search for the city, the building, and most importantly the person to be depicted.”

Ongoing Project: Free Portraits

Everyone deserves a well done portrait of themselves regardless of how much money they have. The ability to have an image to share smiles and memories with families and friends is a gift that we hope to continue giving with our free street portraits. Free Portraits page

Coming Soon: Mobile Art Gallery

Imagine the high prices that one pays for paintings in an art gallery. Now imagine taking time out of a busy day to go see art. What if the gallery came to you and you only paid what you can afford?

Curbs and Stoops is currently building a mobile art gallery – that we will “park” in your neighborhood! Our mobile gallery is designed to fit into a parking space and will be open to anyone that wants to see the works of art by emerging artists. Pieces will be sold on a sliding scale! Meaning you pay what you can afford for a piece!

Coming Soon: A Dollar for Your Story

We are interested in hearing your stories. Any stories. And we will pay you one dollar for it.

This project is not about any particular story – but about the trasnformation a person goes through when they tell a story. We are interested in this kind of sharing. We will video tape your stories and produce the top stories into a video series to be shown on our website. Our series, Story Gumbo, will be showing the most animated, moving stories by everyday people.
