About Curbs & Stoops
Art should take the streets, not our pockets.
Curbs & Stoops is a field guide to New York City street art — the murals and wheatpaste, the paste-ups and stickers, the street sculpture and the pop-up shows, and the writers, walls and neighbourhoods behind them. We report from the sidewalk up, borough by borough, with a bias toward the free wall over the white cube.
We keep five beats — Walls, Objects, Shows, History and Dispatches — and a map, because the city is the table of contents. No ticket prices, no art-fair PR, no gatekeeping. Just where to look and how to read a wall.
Corrections, tips and walls: send them over.
